Picnic by the lake
We made impromptu plans with our neighbors to have a picnic dinner by the lake, attempting to make the most of the weather before winter sneaks up on us. We had babaganoush, tabbouleh, tapenade, and sauteed corn with caraway bread, and sliced cucumbers.
For the tapenade - I quick pulsed my best green and black olives, with capers, garlic pods, olive oil, black pepper, red wine vinaigrette and lemon juice.
For the corn - I took the kernel of 2 cobs, sauteed them in ghee, lemon juice, salt and 1 tsp of Pav-bhaji (from the Indian grocery store) seasoning.
And finished the meal with cantaloupe, fresh fig, Parmesan, reds from Cote du Rhone and vivid sunset hues.
