Guest dish: Ashak (Afghani ravioli)
The best way to describe this Afghani dish is a type of ravioli. My friend fills it with a mildly spicy spinach/green onion/cilantro mixture. She uses pot sticker wrappers and folds them into semi circles. Then boils them and serves it with a home made thick and tart yogurt and home made red sauce (tomato, onion, garlic, red bell pepper, paprika, salt), garnished with dried mint. Mouthfuls of warm flavorful bliss..mmm...
